Technology is a major influence in our lives both in and out of school. Many of the students have expressed their love for different technology devices and our classroom attempts to build a connection using similar technology resources.
Thanks to the hard-work completed by our principal and superintendent, the third graders each have a chrome book that will be used during daily classroom activities. The students will begin by learning the basics of the devices which will lead into using them as a part of our learning in mathematics and literacy. All students will be held accountable for using the Chrome Books appropriately. Any misuse of the technology will result in them being excused from technology advantages/ usage going forward!
As a third grader, your children will experience their first standards-based testing later in the year! All assessments will be taken on the computer and therefore require the students to not only respond to the questions being asked, but exhibit a variety of computer skills including typing responses, selecting multiple choice answers, dragging and dropping items, copying and pasting information, among many others. From the beginning of the year, the students will be practicing these skills so they feel comfortable doing so. There are also links on the library page for the students to practice their skills.
